In our last update from the 2009 The NAFEM Show we want to further explore the philosophy of Kitchenology. As we discussed on day one, the greatest strength of Manitowoc Foodservice is its acumen at orchestrating the intersection of people, equipment and food. This intersection and, more important, the end result for operators, are the foundations to the Kitchenology philosophy.

“Kitchens are the focal point of all we do,” says Dean Landeche, Vice President of Marketing for Manitowoc Foodservice. “Here, you witness chemistry, physics, and math working harmoniously alongside intuition, pageantry, and improvisation. Ingredients are transformed. Cravings are invented. And culture is influenced. The study of all these things comes together as Kitchenology.”

Landeche explains that it’s more than just education. “Successful application requires a commitment to research, technology, innovation and winning products. At Manitowoc Foodservice, the rubber hits the pavement when it comes to these areas. Our actions in each of these areas speak louder than words.”

Further exploration reveals a firm set of principles employed by Manitowoc Foodservice in the successful application of Kitchenology

Leading brands. The company has the most recognized foodservice equipment brands in the world and the most diverse portfolio covering cooking, refrigerating, prepping, ice making, dispensing, holding, merchandising, and warewashing.

Consumers. By tracking consumer trends and applying them to the design of its equipment, Manitowoc Foodservice helps keep kitchens relevant.

Culinary. Making equipment that transforms food from basic ingredients to amazing meals is the company’s greatest strength. An exceptional culinary team provides trend-relevant recipe and menu-development support, operational efficiency consultation and training on the most efficient ways to use equipment.

Technique. With the world’s largest portfolio of leading foodservice equipment brands, Manitowoc Foodservice is an authority on every major cooking technique.

Energy. Through its industry-leading EnerLogic program, Manitowoc Foodservice helps create kitchens that are more efficient and environmentally sensitive. The company makes it simple and practical for operators to converse energy, water and gas.

Design. Every kitchen has an optimal rhythm and workflow. With the help of its exclusive High Performance Kitchen team, Manitowoc Foodservice can design custom kitchen environments based on the unique needs of operators. The result is more efficient, more fluid kitchens where inspiration thrives.

Service. Keeping a kitchen running smoothly is imperative to that operation’s success. Through its award-winning STAR Service Program, Manitowoc Foodservice’s network of authorized service agents is continually updated on product enhancements and best practices in service to ensure proper maintenance and a fast, right fix every time.

Innovation, creativity and excellence have been front-and-center at this year’s NAFEM Show and these principles will continue to guide Manitowoc Foodservice in the years to come.

See you at The NAFEM 2011 Show in Orlando! And a huge thanks to all the people from show administration, to association leadership, to booth construction and management and an extraordinary team of culinary, sales and marketing professionals who make it all happen.
