EPA Recognizes Manitowoc Foodservice with 2014 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award

Manitowoc Foodservice earns award for protecting the environment through energy efficiency

ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence 2014New Port Richey, FL - April 03, 2014 - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Manitowoc Foodservice with a 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award for their continued leadership in protecting our environment through superior energy efficiency. Manitowoc Foodservice's accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 29, 2014.

Manitowoc Foodservice, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2001, will be honored for its long-term commitment to energy efficiency. Currently participating in six ENERGY STAR categories, including fryers, ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, steam cookers, griddles, and ovens, Manitowoc Foodservice has increased its ENERGY STAR qualified portfolio to 1,254 models in 2013 - an increase of over 35% over prior year. Two noteable brands: Convotherm was able to increase triple fold due to the newest commercial equipment category addition launched October 2013 by ENERGY STAR and Frymaster increased by 9 models due to the expansion of their product line.

The 2014 Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Awards are given to a variety of organizations to recognize their contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through superior energy efficiency. These winners have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by setting and achieving aggressive goals, and employing innovative energy efficiency approaches. These awards recognize ongoing leadership across the ENERGY STAR program, including energy-efficient products, services, new homes, and buildings in the commercial, industrial, and public sectors. Award winners are selected from the 16,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.
