Delfield Converts to Increased Environmentally Responsible Insulation
Mt. Pleasant, MI — Delfield products are now insulated with a new, very efficient, environmentally friendly polyurethane foam. The new foam uses a propellant, (blowing agent) methyl formate that has an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) rating of zero. Unlike existing blowing agents which can have potential impact in both areas, it has no negative environmental impact in either areas. The foam is compliant to the goals set forth in the Kyoto Protocol for lowering greenhouse gas emissions and those in the Montreal Protocol for eliminating emissions that are harmful to the Ozone Layer.
Delfield’s customers, both here in the U.S. and around the world, have embraced a desire to make their operations as “green” as possible. They need kitchen equipment that aids in these efforts. Delfield recognizes that need and has responded by investing in product design improvements centered on improved energy efficiency and now, environmentally responsible insulation. That’s good for business but, more importantly, it is good for our and our children’s future.
“Environmental responsibility is one of the cornerstones upon which the Delfield Brand is being built today and in the future,” states Bill Keske VP of Business Development, “Our conversion to this new foam supports this.”
